Pre-operative Instructions

Preparing for your procedure is simple, and our team is here to guide you every step of the way. Please review the instructions below to help ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
General pre-surgical instructions
- Clean your mouth and teeth prior to surgery.
- Dress comfortably.
- Plan for a soft diet for the recommended duration after your surgery
- (generally ~3-5 days).
- If given permission to continue your prescribed medications, you may take
- them with sips of water as normal.
- Inform your surgeon if you feel ill, are heavily congested, have a productive
- cough, fever or chills as we may recommend postponing your surgery.
IV Sedation instructions
- Follow all general instructions above.
- No food or dairy products should be consumed for 8 hours prior to surgery.
- Water can be consumed in small sips up to 2 hours prior to surgery.
- Ensure a responsible adult is present in the office during your surgery and is
- available to drive you home.
- NOTE: For the safety of our patients, no Ubers/Lyfts are allowed.
- Minors (under age 18) must have a parent or legal guardian present for either the initial consultation or the time of surgery to obtain consent.
To better serve all of our patients, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your visit
