L-PRF
What is L-PRF?

L-PRF, or Leukocyte- and Platelet-Rich Fibrin, is a natural healing material created from a small sample of your own blood.
It concentrates platelets, fibrin, white blood cells, and naturally occurring growth factors into a small membrane or clot that can be placed directly into a surgical site to support the body’s natural healing process.
Using your body’s own biology to support healing.
How Does L-PRF Work?
A small amount of blood is drawn at the beginning of your procedure and placed into a specialized centrifuge.
Within minutes, the blood separates and forms a concentrated fibrin layer rich in platelets and growth factors.
Your surgeon can then place the L-PRF directly into the surgical site.
Because L-PRF is created entirely from your own blood, no synthetic additives are required.
When Do We Use L-PRF?

L-PRF may be used as an adjunct with procedures such as:
- Wisdom tooth removal
- Tooth extractions
- Dental implant placement
- Bone grafting
- Sinus grafting
- Other oral surgical procedures
Your surgeon will let you know whether L-PRF may be beneficial for your specific procedure.
Potential Benefits
L-PRF is designed to support the body’s natural healing process and may help:
- Support soft-tissue healing
- Support bone regeneration when used with grafting procedures
- Provide a natural fibrin scaffold at the surgical site
- Enhance the local healing environment
What to Expect
The blood draw takes only a few minutes and can typically be completed as part of your normal surgical appointment.
The L-PRF is prepared while your procedure is being performed and placed directly into the surgical site before it is closed.
